MONSTA X's Kihyun releases English version of 'So Good' ahead of North American tour

MONSTA X's Kihyun is expanding his global reach with the release of an English version of his latest title track, 'So Good'.

According to Starship Entertainment, Kihyun released the English version of 'So Good' on global streaming platforms on July 24.

Originally released on July 7 as the title track of his second mini album, 'BORDERLINE', 'So Good' is a rock-based song driven by gradually building guitar instrumentals and Kihyun's expressive vocals. The track received praise for its soaring high notes and explosive energy in the latter half.

Following its release, 'BORDERLINE' drew attention from Forbes, which described the album as a work that "delivers empathy and resonance through a journey of discovering one's true self rather than searching for the 'right' answer." The publication also highlighted Kihyun's musical versatility, noting his ability to seamlessly navigate alternative rock, pop rock, R&B and modern band sounds.

The album also performed well internationally. It reached No. 21 on the Worldwide iTunes Album Chart and topped the iTunes Top 100 K-pop Album Chart in five countries, including Australia, Finland and the Netherlands. It also entered the top five in 12 countries, including the United States, Brazil, Canada, Germany, India, Japan and Mexico.

Kihyun also promoted 'So Good' on music shows over the past two weeks, earning praise from fans for his stable live vocals and expressive performances.

The English version is expected to further expand Kihyun's reach among international listeners. While preserving the mood of the original, the new version features completely different English lyrics, offering a fresh interpretation of the same melody.

"I'm happy to finally share the English version of 'So Good'," Kihyun said through his agency. "When I first heard the original demo, I really loved its vibe and wanted to share a version that captured that feeling. Although it has the same melody, the lyrics tell a completely different story, so I think you'll be able to experience a different atmosphere and charm. Meanwhile, MONSTA X is currently in the midst of its '2026 MONSTA X WORLD TOUR [THE X : NEXUS]' and is scheduled to launch the North American leg of the tour in October.
