TWS's debut track "plot twist" has passed 200 million cumulative streams on YouTube Music, a mark that lands more than two and a half years after the song first arrived. The milestone speaks to how long the track has stayed in rotation for the Pledis Entertainment group.
Released on January 22, 2024, "plot twist" has shown unusual staying power. It crossed 100 million streams in July of last year, then doubled that count in the span of a single year. The song has also held on major Korean daily charts including Melon, Genie Music, and Bugs without missing a single day since release, and on Spotify it recorded over 115.73 million cumulative streams as of June 12, the group's first song to clear 100 million on that platform.
The track captures the giddy, hard-to-name feeling of a first encounter, delivered in the bright style TWS have made their own. Its cheerful melody and easy point choreography did the work of introducing the public to the group's "Boyhood Pop" concept, and the song went on to take Melon's 2024 annual chart. Billboard and NME both placed it among their Best K-Pop Songs of 2024, with Billboard calling it "the song that made TWS the best rookie of 2024."
The group is currently on their first Asia tour, '24/7:FOR:YOU'. The run opens with shows from August 28 to 30 across the Japanese cities of Fukuoka, Hyogo, and Kanagawa, before heading to Macao, Bangkok, Singapore, and Kaohsiung.
TWS are also busy in Japan this summer. They release their second Japanese single, 'SODA SODA', on August 4, and will appear on TBS's music program 'Ongaku no Hi 2026' on August 18, alongside a string of festival stages.
