TWS has reached a remarkable milestone in Japan with their second single, "SODA SODA," sweeping local music charts and setting new records for a K-pop group.
On August 12, the group claimed the number one spot on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 for the tracking week of August 3 to 9, marking their second number-one on the Billboard Japan Hot 100, following their Japanese debut single 'Hajimemashite'. This achievement underscores TWS's swiftly growing popularity in the Japanese market.
Composed of members Shinyu, Dohun, Youngjae, Hanjin, Jihoon, and Kyungmin, TWS also delivered impressive physical album sales. According to Oricon, "SODA SODA" sold 225,853 copies in its first week, marking the highest debut sales for any of their releases in Japan to date.
Supported by strong sales, "SODA SODA" secured second place on both the Oricon Weekly Single Ranking (August 17 issue) and Billboard Japan's Top Single Sales chart during the same tracking period.
The title track "SODA SODA" captures the bright moments of youth and the determination to move forward. Featuring a fresh city pop rhythm and lyrics reflecting summer memories, the song creates a lively yet nostalgic vibe. The music video warmly portrays seaside moments shared with friends during summer days.
With a solid foothold in Japan, TWS plans to deepen connections with fans through various activities. They will perform at Japan’s largest music festival, Summer Sonic 2026, on August 14 and 16. Afterward, they will begin on their Asia tour "24/7:FOR:YOU," with concerts scheduled from August 28 to 30 in Fukuoka, September 4 to 6 in Hyogo, and September 12 to 13 in Kanagawa.
This notable accomplishment and upcoming performances emphasize TWS's rising influence and promising trajectory in the Japanese music scene.
