RESCENE has donated 50 million KRW (approx. 36,000 USD) to help residents of Geoje City affected by torrential rains. According to Geoje City, RESCENE donated on August 19 under the name of its fandom, REMINE, to support flood recovery efforts and help displaced residents return to their daily lives. Fans also joined the effort. The Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association opened a dedicated donation page for REMINE on the same day. Nearly 60 million KRW has reportedly been raised through the campaign. Geoje City is the hometown of RESCENE member Won Yi. A video of Won Yi and fellow member Minami traveling around Geoje City and enthusiastically shouting, "Geoje, yahoo!" received widespread attention. In May, Won Yi was appointed as a promotional ambassador for Geoje City. Since then, RESCENE has continued promoting the city through short-form content and various offline activities. Meanwhile, RESCENE recently attended 'KCON LA 2026,' held at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
RESCENE had already established a fan base through their music, but their major public breakthrough came through Woni's YouTube content earlier this year, in 2026.
Woni, who is from Geoje, began featuring her fellow members on her personal YouTube channel, 'Hello, I'm Woni, Nice to Meet You.' The content was designed to showcase the members' personalities outside of their regular idol promotions. One of the biggest hits came when Woni appeared with Japanese member Minami, who took on a gyaru-inspired character. During their content, Woni introduced Minami to her hometown of Geoje, and Minami responded with the now-famous “Geoje Yaho!” catchphrase.
The viral attention then spilled over into RESCENE's music career. "LOVE ATTACK," originally released in 2024, began climbing Korean music charts nearly two years after its release. MoneyToday specifically connected the group's increased public recognition from the “Geoje Yaho” meme with the reverse-charting success of "LOVE ATTACK."
The girls returned to the music scene with the remake of KARA's "Pretty Girls," which is also gaining traction on various music charts across South Korea.
