Nam Joo Hyuk is returning to the crime genre. On July 23, Disney+ unveiled the cast lineup for its upcoming original series 'Code', confirming Nam Joo Hyuk, Lee Yi Dam, Kim Eui Sung, and Park Hoon as the lead cast. 'Code' is a mystery crime thriller that follows a materialistic lawyer who bends the law through illegal and unethical means. His life takes a dramatic turn after he is invited to join 'Code,' a mysterious app that grants users' wishes. Nam Joo Hyuk will play Yoon Tae Joo, a former prosecutor's investigator turned lawyer. Determined to secure a partner position at one of Korea's top law firms, he stops at nothing to achieve his ambitions. One day, Yoon Tae Joo receives an invitation to the mysterious Code app, drawing him into a whirlwind of greed and desire. The role is expected to showcase a darker, more ambitious side of Nam Joo Hyuk's acting.
Lee Yi Dam will portray Park Ji Dam, a prosecutor at the Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office who investigates the truth behind a series of cases connected to the app. She shares a complicated history with Yoon Tae Joo, leading to constant tension between the two. Kim Eui Sung has been cast as Jo Chul Ho, a North Korean defector and hacker, while Park Hoon will play Lim Chang Jae, a detective in the violent crimes unit. Both characters assist Yoon Tae Joo throughout the story. The series will be directed by Yoo Soo Min, who previously impressed audiences with the Netflix series 'Weak Hero Class 1' and 'Weak Hero Class 2', earning praise for his intense action sequences and compelling coming-of-age storytelling. With 'Code,' he will explore the darker side of human desire. 'Code' is scheduled to premiere on Disney+ next year.
