Singer Kim Hyun Jung recently gave fans a glimpse of her remarkably youthful appearance at 49 years old while revealing a tense near accident she experienced on a rainy highway. On the 18th, she posted a video on her social media recounting the frightening moment she faced while traveling to a concert in Jangseong.
In the video, Kim Hyun Jung sat inside her car with long light-colored hair and sharp makeup, calmly explaining the situation. Born in 1976, her refreshed and younger look drew attention from fans who had missed updates on her for some time.
The incident was far from lighthearted. While driving on a wet highway, her car suddenly made a strange noise from the accelerator, described as “peobuk peobuk.” Soon after, the engine warning light appeared, and the vehicle completely stalled, leaving her stranded in the rain.
Kim Hyun Jung recalled, “The accelerator made weird noises, and the engine warning light kept flashing. The car’s condition worsened until the engine finally shut off completely.” She waited inside the car for a tow truck, which cost about 700,000 won (approximately $570) to transport the vehicle back to Seoul.
The wet highway conditions made the situation especially dangerous, and Kim Hyun Jung admitted she still feels her heart race when thinking about it. Fans expressed relief that the incident didn’t lead to a serious accident, commenting on how frightening it must have been to have the car stall in such hazardous conditions.
Kim Hyun Jung has faced challenges with her voice in the past, having revealed on a broadcast that she paused her career due to vocal cord nodules. Instead of surgery, she chose rehabilitation, avoiding singing and phone calls to recover her voice over a long period.
After regaining her voice, Kim Hyun Jung has steadily returned to performing on stage and connecting with fans through her YouTube channel. She debuted in 1997 and became a beloved solo singer of the 1990s and 2000s with hits like "Goodbye with Her," "Love Alone," "Returned Goodbye," and "Blank."
