K-pop group ILLIT is making waves in Japan as their new Japanese single's title track, "I Got Your Back," has been chosen as the opening song for the upcoming ABEMA original drama 'Vacation Law.' This collaboration connects the group's music with a highly anticipated series.
On July 22, HYBE Music Group label BELIFT LAB confirmed that ILLIT's second Japanese single album, also titled 'I Got Your Back,' will feature its namesake track as the official soundtrack for the Japanese OTT platform's series. The five-member group, consisting of Yunah, Minju, Moka, Wonhee, and Iroha, is ready to reach new audiences with this placement.
"I Got Your Back" is a rock-infused track that explores the comfort of steadfast friendship amidst life's daily anxieties and pressures. ILLIT delivers a genuine message of solace, reassuring listeners with the sentiment, "You are not alone," through their expressive vocals.
The drama 'Vacation Law' tells the story of Hoshino Midori, portrayed by Japanese actress Hashimoto Kanna, who seeks respite from her demanding routine. During her vacation, Midori encounters the enigmatic villa manager Nishigami, played by actor Chae Jong Hyeop, leading her to discover love and meaningful moments. A preview video for 'Vacation Law,' released on July 21, already featured a snippet of "I Got Your Back," its bright and cheerful melody matching the drama's fresh atmosphere.
Beyond this OST collaboration, ILLIT is preparing for a busy summer in Japan. The group will wrap their 'ILLIT LIVE 'PRESS START♥︎' in JAPAN' tour with finale shows at Toyota Arena Tokyo on July 23, 25, and 26, reflecting their growing presence in the Japanese market.
