ILLIT drops Korean version of their Japanese hit song "I Got Your Back"

ILLIT has released a Korean version of their Japanese hit song "I Got Your Back." BELIFT LAB announced on August 17 that ILLIT released the Korean version of "I Got Your Back" on various music streaming platforms at midnight. "I Got Your Back" is the title track of ILLIT's second Japanese single album, which was released last month. The rock track combines polished guitar riffs with dynamic drum sounds. The lyrics convey a warm message of reassurance, telling listeners, "Don't forget that I'm always by your side." The song also features a cute choreography that includes pointing a finger and tapping the head. The song quickly gained popularity in Japan following its release, reaching No. 2 on Billboard Japan's comprehensive Hot 100 chart. It was also featured on the soundtrack for the Japanese OTT platform ABEMA's original drama 'The Rules of Vacation.'

The Korean version captures ILLIT's signature bright and upbeat energy. Jisoo and Momoka, members of popular Japanese girl group HANA, also participated in the Korean version after featuring on the original Japanese release. "We're glad to share a song that contains our honest thoughts and feelings," ILLIT said. "Please listen closely to the lyrics, which offer comfort with the message, 'You're not alone.'" They added, "Although it's the same song, singing it in Korean gave it a different charm. We hope you can feel ILLIT's powerful rock energy." Meanwhile, ILLIT will hold their world tour 'PRESS START' at AsiaWorld Expo Hall 10 in Hong Kong on August 22 and 23.
