Lee Chae Young of the girl group Fromis_9 is set to directly address her past e-cigarette controversy on an upcoming variety show appearance.
On July 16, the YouTube channel 'Ip-man-yeol-myeon' released a new episode of 'The Truman Show' titled "Long-Distance Relationship for the First Time in My Life," which concluded with a preview featuring Fromis_9 members Lee Chae Young and Lee Na Gyung chatting with host Lee Yong Jin ahead of their highly anticipated comeback.
During the teaser, when Lee Yong Jin playfully asked Na Gyung if she secretly wished Chae Young wouldn't come over to her house, Na Gyung admitted that the two of them had fought over something incredibly immature in the past, causing Chae Young to scream and beg her not to share the story out of pure embarrassment.
Midst the laughter, Chae Young caught everyone's attention by unexpectedly bringing up her past rumor, revealing that after she previously uploaded a photo where an e-cigarette was caught in the frame, she actually received an immense number of calls from that specific e-cigarette company.
This stems back to 2023 when Chae Young became swept up in a sudden controversy after netizens spotted what appeared to be an e-cigarette in a social media photo that she had rapidly deleted shortly after posting. At the time, her agency did not issue an official statement, sparking a divided debate among netizens who argued whether it mattered for an adult to smoke versus those claiming a girl group member should have been more careful with her public image.
Meanwhile, Chae Young's group Fromis_9 is gearing up to make their grand return to the music scene with the release of their second studio album, 'Glow ME,' on July 21.SEE ALSO:
