As speculation surrounding TWICE's contract renewals continues to intensify, leader Jihyo has personally addressed fans with a heartfelt message, revealing the emotional weight she has been carrying amid ongoing discussions about her future with JYP Entertainment. On July 28, Jihyo posted a lengthy message to TWICE's official fan communication platform, Bubble, speaking directly to the group's fandom, ONCE. "I could be having casual conversations with ONCE about everyday things, but right now it's difficult because my heart feels so heavy," she wrote. "I was worried and very cautious before coming to Bubble, but I don't want ONCE to have to wait too long. I'll do my best to resolve everything properly and share good news with you as soon as I can." She continued by reassuring fans that she would make the decision carefully. She wrote, "As the person responsible for my own life, I'll think everything through wisely and make the best choice. Just like you always have, I hope you'll continue to support me and trust me." Jihyo also emphasized her unwavering love for TWICE. She continued, "I sincerely love and cherish TWICE as a team, and I believe ONCE will understand me because of that alone." She said, "I'm sorry it's been so long since I came to talk to you. I'll come back when we can casually chat and joke around again. Sleep well, eat well, get plenty of rest, and let's all get through this together. Thank you, always." Her message quickly drew attention as TWICE's renewal negotiations remain one of the hottest topics among fans. Earlier this month, reports claimed that Jeongyeon, Tzuyu, Chaeyoung, and Jihyo were considering leaving JYP Entertainment, fueling rumors they would be changing agencies. One report specifically alleged that Jihyo had decided to part ways with the agency after more than two decades and was likely preparing to establish her own one-person agency. The report added that, regardless of her individual contract, she is expected to continue participating in TWICE's group activities under JYP. Responding to the speculation on July 14, JYP Entertainment stated, "TWICE is currently in the contract renewal discussion period. We will provide an update once the matter has been finalized." Jihyo debuted as TWICE's leader in 2015 after spending approximately 10 years as a trainee under JYP Entertainment. Including her trainee years, she has been with the company for around 21 years, with JYP previously celebrating her 20th anniversary at the agency through commemorative content released last year.
