TWICE's Chaeyoung recently revealed her decision to part ways with JYP Entertainment after 14 years, following fellow member Jeongyeon's earlier departure. Despite this change, Chaeyoung assured fans that her activities with TWICE will remain steady.
On August 13, Chaeyoung shared a handwritten letter on her personal social media account, choosing to inform fans directly about the end of her contract with JYP. She expressed sincere appreciation for the company, the group, and her fellow members who supported her throughout her career. She emphasized that while her relationship with JYP is concluding, her commitment to TWICE will not waver.
Chaeyoung introduced her plans to pursue music independently under the name “LIL FANTASY,” expressing excitement about this new chapter. She promised to deliver meaningful music both as a solo artist and as part of TWICE, showing readiness to take on fresh challenges while maintaining her connection to the group.
Born in 1999, Chaeyoung joined JYP Entertainment as a trainee in 2012 and debuted with TWICE in 2015. Over the years, she contributed to the group’s rise with hit tracks such as "Like OOH-AHH," "CHEER UP," and "TT," earning love from fans worldwide. Her 14 years with JYP represent half of her life, making this transition significant.
Earlier this month, Jeongyeon also announced her departure from JYP Entertainment and signed with Baro Entertainment to pursue acting alongside her music career. These moves mark a new phase for TWICE members as they explore individual paths while continuing to support the group.
