Silica Gel will release their third full-length album 'Ballad of You' on August 20, marking the band's first regular album in three years and opening a busy second-half schedule.
The band shared the album news and cover image through its official social media. The reveal gives fans the clearest look yet at the next chapter after a steady run of pre-release hints.
The cover image continues the mood of the pre-release single "Molecular Gastronomy". It pairs ASCII art on torn paper with striking red tape, creating a sharp visual contrast that lays out the new album's concept in a direct, graphic way.
Silica Gel has already teased the direction of the third album through music. The band released "BIG VOID" and "Molecular Gastronomy" in sequence, using both singles as early signals for the sound and atmosphere of 'Ballad of You'.
The band also previewed several new songs through setlists at solo concerts. For fans who caught those stages, the album announcement ties those live hints into a confirmed full-length release.
After the album arrives, Silica Gel will head into a major live schedule in Seoul. The band will hold 'Silica Gel Asia Tour in Seoul' at Olympic Park's KSPO DOME on September 26 and 27.
The Seoul concerts will lead into the band's first Asia tour, with stops planned in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Japan. With the album title, cover image, concert dates, and tour route now confirmed, Silica Gel's next scheduled milestone is the August 20 release of 'Ballad of You'.
