Psy has reached another historic milestone, as the music video for his global smash hit "Gangnam Style" has surpassed 6 billion views on YouTube. On July 20, his agency P NATION announced that the music video for "Gangnam Style," originally released in July 2012, had officially exceeded the 6 billion-view mark on the platform. The achievement comes 14 years after the video's release, proving its enduring global popularity. After surpassing 5 billion views in December 2023, the music video gained another 1 billion views in just two years.
"Gangnam Style" is widely regarded as the song that introduced K-pop to a global audience. Upon its release, it spent seven consecutive weeks at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, the main U.S. singles chart. P NATION described the latest milestone as "a symbolic achievement in K-pop history," adding that it demonstrates the lasting global appeal and influence of Korean content. Meanwhile, Psy will continue his 'PSY SUMMER SWAG 2026' tour with a performance in Wonju on July 25.
