NewJeans has once again demonstrated the lasting popularity of its music, surpassing 8 billion cumulative streams on Spotify.
According to Spotify data released on August 20, NewJeans’ entire discography had accumulated 8,020,095,363 streams as of August 18. The milestone comes approximately four years and one month after the group’s debut.
NewJeans has continued to set notable streaming records since entering the music scene. In March 2023, just around eight months after debut, the group surpassed 1 billion cumulative Spotify streams. At the time, the achievement came in just 219 days and was recognized by Guinness World Records as the fastest by a K-pop act.
The group went on to cross 5 billion cumulative streams in September 2024. Despite releasing no new music since then, NewJeans added roughly another 3 billion streams in less than two years, highlighting the continued popularity of its existing catalog.
Every song included across NewJeans’ two EPs, first single album, and two double singles has now surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify.
“Ditto” and “OMG” have each exceeded 900 million streams, while “Super Shy” has surpassed 800 million and “Hype Boy” has crossed 700 million. “New Jeans” and “Attention” have each topped 500 million, with “ETA” exceeding 400 million.
“Cookie,” “How Sweet,” and “Hurt” have each surpassed 300 million streams, while “Cool With You” and “Supernatural” have crossed 200 million. “ASAP,” “Get Up,” “Bubble Gum,” and “Right Now” have each recorded more than 100 million streams.
NewJeans also recorded approximately 13.28 million monthly listeners on Spotify as of July. The United States accounted for the largest share of listeners, followed by Indonesia, Japan, Brazil, the Philippines, Mexico, South Korea, India, and the United Kingdom.
Meanwhile, Hanni has returned to ADOR following Haerin and Hyein, while discussions with Minji are reportedly continuing in a positive direction. The group also recently released a special film commemorating the fourth anniversary of NewJeans’ debut.
