Actresses Moon Geun Young, Go Ah Sung and Kim Si Ah have teamed up for director Yeon Sang Ho’s upcoming film. Showbox announced on August 21 that its new film ‘Yeto,’ co-directed by Yeon Sang Ho and Yoon Young Woo, had officially wrapped production. “Moon Geun Young, Go Ah Sung and Kim Si Ah have completed all filming,” the production company said. ‘Yeto’ is an occult creature film centered on two influencer sisters. The story follows the sisters as they embark on a camping trip, only for the younger sister to mysteriously disappear after they enter the former site of a cult. Moon Geun Young plays Sua, an influencer who documents her life alongside her younger sister. The role marks her reunion with director Yeon Sang Ho and her first return to the big screen in nine years. Moon Geun Young has been one of South Korea’s most recognizable actresses since childhood. She rose to prominence through television before making a major impact in films such as ‘A Tale of Two Sisters,’ ‘My Little Bride’ and ‘Innocent Steps.’ Her performance as Su Yeon in the 2003 horror classic ‘A Tale of Two Sisters’ helped establish her as a major young star, and the film went on to become one of Korea’s best-known horror movies internationally. Go Ah Sung is working with Yeon Sang Ho for the first time. She plays Deok Hee, a mysterious woman whom the influencer sisters encounter after entering an unfamiliar world. Go Ah Sung began acting at just four years old and became widely known after starring as Hyun Seo in Bong Joon Ho’s 2006 monster film ‘The Host.’ The movie became a major box-office hit, while Go earned the Best New Actress award at the Blue Dragon Film Awards. She later appeared in Bong’s international science-fiction film ‘Snowpiercer’ alongside Chris Evans, Song Kang Ho, Tilda Swinton and other international stars. Her filmography also includes ‘A Brand New Life,’ ‘Thread of Lies,’ ‘Office,’ ‘A Resistance’ and ‘Samjin Company English Class.’ ‘Snowpiercer’ was particularly significant internationally, earning more than 9.3 million admissions in South Korea. Kim Si Ah plays Mina, Sua’s younger sister, who becomes increasingly confused and distressed as the sisters find themselves trapped in the mysterious world. She will portray the sister of Moon Geun Young's character, giving audiences a different side of her acting compared with her previous projects. Kim Si Ah, born in 2008, made her acting debut in ‘Miss Baek’ and quickly built an impressive filmography as a child actress. She has since appeared in films including ‘The House of Us,’ ‘Ashfall,’ ‘The Closet,’ and Netflix’s ‘Kill Boksoon.’ Her television credits include Netflix’s ‘The Silent Sea,’ ‘Kingdom: Ashin of the North,’ ‘Sweet Home,’ and ‘See You in My 19th Life.’ Kim Si Ah has continued to expand her career into more mature roles. She starred in the 2025 KBS drama ‘Walking on Thin Ice’ and won the Best Young Actress award at the 2025 KBS Drama Awards. Her upcoming projects include ‘Portrait of a Family’ and ‘Reawaken Man: The Red.’ ‘Yeto’ will be jointly directed by Yeon Sang Ho and Yoon Young Woo. The two filmmakers have previously worked together as director and assistant director, and their collaboration is expected to offer a new expansion of the so-called “Yeon Sang Ho Universe.” “‘Yeto’ is a fresh project combining distinctive visual effects with drama,” Yeon Sang Ho said. “I was amazed by the explosive performances from the actors.” He added, “It is also a film that requires a considerable amount of post-production work. We will do our best with the remaining post-production process to deliver a film of the highest quality.” Yoon Young Woo also asked audiences to look forward to the project. “Through the story of two sisters who experience something extraordinary in an unfamiliar world, we hope to give audiences a unique experience,” he said. “The abilities of the staff we have worked with for a long time, new visual-effects solutions and the actors’ performances will provide another major attraction.”
Yeon Sang Ho is best known for creating dark, high-concept stories that combine horror, social commentary, and human drama. He is most famous for directing 'Train to Busan,' and is also known for his Netflix series, 'Hellbound.' Meanwhile, ‘Yeto’ is currently in post-production. A release date has not yet been announced.
