GOT7's Youngjae has revealed that he still has not received his payment for his musical appearance. On July 20, Youngjae took to his social media to repost a statement he originally shared in June regarding his unpaid appearance fees. Alongside it, he wrote, "Please settle the payment~ And have a happy Monday." In his original post, Youngjae wrote, "I remember being told everything would be resolved by June 9, but it still hasn't been settled. By August, it will have been almost a year since the payment issue remained unresolved." He continued, expressing his frustration: "Did I ask for money unfairly? I wanted to resolve this amicably. But we're not the ones who made the situation uncomfortable. They said it would be settled within this month, but how many times have I heard that already?"
The issue first came to light in December of last year, when it was reported that the production company behind the musical 'Dream High 2' had failed to pay several cast members for months. In response at the time, Kim Eun Ha, CEO of Art One Company, stated, "We reached an amicable agreement with GOT7 Youngjae's side to complete the settlement process for the remaining unpaid fees by June. We intend to prioritize our promise to the actor and complete the payment process within the agreed deadline." However, Youngjae's agency, Andbut Company, disputed that claim, stating, "We never agreed to or confirmed the end of June as the deadline for repayment of the unpaid appearance fees." The agency further explained, "The other party verbally stated that they would prepare and deliver a repayment plan. However, they had already submitted a repayment plan at the end of last year, and the schedule outlined at that time was never honored. Therefore, we do not believe that the submission of another repayment plan alone sufficiently demonstrates either a genuine intention to repay or the ability to fulfill the obligation."
