G-Dragon's sister Kwon Da Mi announces second pregnancy with actor Kim Min Joon

Fashion designer Kwon Da Mi — the older sister of BIGBANG's G-Dragon and the wife of actor Kim Min Joon — has announced that she is expecting her second child.

On July 9, Kwon Da Mi shared an ultrasound image on social media to reveal the pregnancy. "This is Eden's younger sibling, Samdeunie," she wrote, revealing that her first son Eden, is about to become an older brother. She added that the baby is a girl, writing, "Eden always wished for a little sister, and we're so grateful that our baby came to us."

On the baby's nickname, she wrote, "Kim Eden's little sister, Kim Yi Woo. I'm finally going to be a girl mom, haha. Let's all stay healthy and meet in October," confirming she is due in October. On the ultrasound image, which partially covered the baby's face, she added, "Show us your full face in two weeks, Yi Woo."

Kwon Da Mi married actor Kim Min Joon in 2019, and the couple welcomed their first son, Eden, in 2022. With their second child, they will have both a son and a daughter, and G-Dragon will become an uncle to a niece as well as a nephew.

G-Dragon has often been described as a devoted uncle thanks to his close bond with Eden. Speaking on TV Chosun's 'Baekban Journey With Heo Young Man' in April, Kim Min Joon shared that G-Dragon gave Eden a miniature electric car that had appeared as a prop in one of his music videos. "My son received one of the cars as a gift from his uncle. I posted a photo of it, and everyone recognized it as the car from the music video. It even made the news," he said.

Kim Min Joon also shared a humorous story about his relationship with his brother-in-law. "I only have an older sister, so I always had this fantasy of giving a younger brother or brother-in-law spending money when he enlisted in the military," he said. "I imagined saying, 'Don't tell your sister I gave this to you,' and hearing him say, 'Thank you.' But that never happened."

He continued with a laugh, "I kept wondering how much money I would even have to give him," adding that he sometimes felt intimidated as G-Dragon's brother-in-law. During the same appearance, Kim Min Joon recalled falling in love with Kwon Da Mi after they met through a mutual friend. The couple decided to marry after dating for just four months. "As I got to know her, I discovered sides of her I hadn't seen before," he said. "The image of her as a mother was especially powerful." He also mentioned their now five-year-old son, saying at the time, "We're thinking about having a second child, if my wife is okay with it."
