G-DRAGON's agency, Galaxy Corporation, has stepped up its response to malicious online comments by filing lawsuits against more than 100 individuals accused of defaming the artist. On August 4, the agency said the legal actions followed both fan reports and its own evidence-gathering.
According to the agency, several cases are already under investigation by law enforcement and the courts. Some offenders have been identified and referred to prosecutors or brought to criminal trial, and several have received summary fines ranging from 2 million to 7 million won, with prosecutors requesting similar penalties in other cases.
Galaxy Corporation stressed that anonymity on social media does not shield offenders from being traced and held accountable, adding that malicious online behavior can lead to real legal consequences.
The agency also warned that those who repeatedly share or amplify harmful content will face legal action as well. It said it monitors domestic and international communities, portals, social media, and video platforms to collect evidence of offenses such as spreading false information, defamation, invasion of privacy, sexual harassment, and the distribution of manipulated media.
Even when harmful posts are deleted or accounts are made private or changed, Galaxy Corporation said it continues legal procedures based on the evidence it has secured, reaffirming that it will respond without leniency.
